My Long Overdue New Hip

Well the day is almost here when I receive my new hip, a titanium and ceramic midical device that is sure to render me pain free at last and get me back in the game at 100%.

Dr Alan Inglis, a well-known surgeon will be performing the operation at Hospital For Special Surgery. Three years ago, when I was told I would eventually need to have my hip replaced, I put it on the back burner to focus on other things. As a young man, I put my body through a lot of abuse as a professional athlete so I should not be surprised that I am now paying a price!

If you asked me if I could change the past to avoid the pain I have been living with for the last several years, the answer would be NO! I have always been one to believe that you should follow your passion in life whatever road that leads you down as you only have one life to live.

Even today I am still following my passion by working every day with patients and caregivers through healtheo360 as well as with a would class team of colleagues.

Tomorrow, October 9th at 8am, I will receive my new hip! In order to help others who may be contemplating a hip replacement, Hospital for Special Surgery will be videoing the operation and you will be able to watch the whole thing right here on healtheo360 real soon.

I will also be making a series of videos on the physical therapy I will be going through so you can see what the process and recovery time looks like. Dr Alan as assured me that I will be back to driving and to work in a week but I think we might be able to do a little better than that. I look forward to my new hip and a great outcome.
