What are the treatment options for prediabetes?

 Living a healthy lifestyle can help manage prediabetes or prevent it from progressing into type 2 diabetes. In order to prevent the progression of the disease, try to: 
 
  • Eat healthily: choose foods that are low in fat and high in fiber 
  • Be active: exercise for 30-60 minutes daily 
  • Lose excess weight: if overweight it is suggested that you lose 5-10 % of your body weight. 
  • Don't smoke
  • Take medication if prescribed
