Dr Janina - Outstanding lesson in Macular Degeneration! I like the concept of "eye health exam" and not just a regular vision checkup. I also like the way you have highlighted the risk factors associated with this condition. This should make everyone think about the added risks of smoking and continuing to eat unhealthy. I am going to look into Ocuvite as a supplement to my vitamin regimen. I am not a smoker and try to eat healthy but each year I am getting older lol. What do you think about this as a nutritional supplement for precaution? Thanks again for all your great work on educating our community on eye conditions and As Always - Be Well.

Dear David, sorry it took so long to reply but I had to move recently and had a problem with internet providers. Now I am with one that is not so slow! Regarding your question on Ocuvite, I think it is best because I do not know of too many people who eat enough spinach to satisfy the Lutein our eyes can use. Not all of us know every detail of our family history either and if it does not interfere with anything else you are taking, then great!
