Activating Caregiver and Patient Understanding of New Options to Treat and Prevent Venous Thromboembolism

Today in this interactive program we will be learning about venous thromboembolism, or VTE. VTE is a serious condition that can be fatal, and proper treatment, as well as the prevention of recurrences, is of the utmost importance. Caregivers play an important role in helping patients recognize the symptoms of a blood clot and seek medical help. Caregivers also help patients make treatment decisions, and remind them to keep taking their medication to prevent additional clots from forming. In this program, we will provide you with information on risks, symptoms, treatment, and prevention, as well as how to talk with your doctor to have all of your questions answered to your satisfaction.
