How does endometriosis affect daily life?

The pelvic pain, intense menstrual cramping, and other symptoms that may be associated with endometriosis have the potential to negatively impact one’s everyday life. Over the counter pain medications, warm baths, heating pads, and regular exercise are some methods that may improve symptoms of endometriosis. If symptoms are getting in the way of daily living it is important to talk with your doctor to find a treatment that is right for you.

In severe cases of endometriosis, women may have trouble getting pregnant or even become infertile. Finding out you are unable to have children can be devastating. Joining a support group and surrounding yourself with family and friends may be helpful in coping with this news.
