What are the common symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome? 

The symptoms of CFS may last at least 6 months and include:
 
  • Significant impairment of short-term memory or concentration
  • Sore throat that is frequent or recurring
  • Enlarged or tender lymph nodes in the neck or armpits
  • Unexplained muscle or joint pain
  • Pain that moves from one joint to another without swelling or redness
  • Headache of a new type, pattern or severity
  • Extreme exhaustion lasting more than 24 hours after physical or mental exercise
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Fatigue and weakness
  • Forgetfulness or confusion
  • Mood swings
  • Low-grade fever
